The company only buys coffee beans from small farmers and cooperatives located in some of the world's most productive coffee-growing regions. Through a recent carbon-lowering initiative at its beanery in Orange, Massachusetts, which included the installation of a 10 kW solar panel system that supplies 65 percent of the company's electricity, Dean's Beans was able to cut its carbon emissions by 15 percent while growing its business 20 percent.
