The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) offers a list of FHA-approved lenders. FHA Energy Efficient Mortgages allow lenders to add 100 percent of the additional cost of energy-efficiency improvements to an already approved loan, without an additional down payment. Any FHA-approved lending institution (most banks, savings and loan associations, and mortgage companies) can make loans covered by EEM insurance.
