According to the American Solar Energy Society, renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies (RE&EE) created 8.5 million new jobs in 2006 and could generate an additional 40 million jobs by 2030.[1] Complementing this green job growth is the increased dialogue by politicians and elected officials regarding energy use, global warming, and even clean air and water.[2] Making your pro-environment views known on the political scene—at the local, regional, and federal level—can help influence environmental policy and green your community, state, country, and, since environmental issues know no human borders,[3] even the world at large.
