I need to know if you can install carpet tile in cold weather. The box says to let tiles be at room temperature for 48 hrs. Do you have to install them at room temperature? What can happen if you don'nt let them stay at room temp. for 48 hours?

hi bodavis, i believe that the issue around being sure the tiles are at room temp before you lay them is so that they not do not expand or contract too much once they are laid in place, throwing off the alignement.

A quote from the article:
"The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) notes that new carpet and some new rugs can off-gas volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that may cause adverse reactions in some people, including skin irritations, headaches, shortness of breath, and coughing."
With carpet products available that are produced with no toxins and no chemicals, why choose a carpet that could give off harmful VOCs? Why not choose a product that is completely free of VOCs?
We manufacture residential carpet that is made from all 100% natural materials. We use no dyes, chemicals, or synthetics of any kind. Our products contain zero toxins and zero VOCs.
It is time to change the world, one product at a time.
